About Jonathan

I am a very curious person and a proud “space nerd” who loves to learn all about our world and universe. My favorite subjects in school were pretty much anything to do with science and I have a degree in Physics. I have been working as an engineer on a variety of space exploration programs for many years. I am now an Engineering Manager helping mentor and coach employees in their leadership and career growth.

I grew up in a very loving and stable Christian home. My mom was a teacher before becoming a stay-at-home mom and she put a lot of effort into ensuring my brother and I got a good education. I inherited my love of science from my dad, who was a PhD chemist before retiring several years ago. I was very active in church growing up, and enjoyed being involved in the youth group and going to summer camps. I played guitar and sang for many years in a church band, as well as a country cover band. Although I no longer play music in a band much anymore, music is still a big part of who I am.

I love to read lots of nonfiction, listen to music, and go to concerts. I love to do photography on our many travels. I also really like to watch movies and documentaries. I enjoy hanging out with family and friends and having deep conversations. I love the outdoors and going for jogs when the weather is nice.

We share a sense of humor that is all our own. He has love for travel and discovering new places and through him I have seen more of the world than I ever thought I would. Whether it is a roadtrip or by flight, traveling with him is always an adventure. Honestly, there is no me without him. A Few of My Favorite Things:

Hobbies: photography, travel, nature, walking/jogging, and reading non-fiction books.

Music: A wide variety! Pop, country, metal, retro, folk, new wave. Artists include: The Midnight, Night Traveler, Beartooth, Dayseeker, Sleep Token, Ben Rector, Teddy Swims, The National Parks, Chris Stapleton, and more.

Books: astronaut experiences, space, history, nature, science, and travel stories. Two of my all-time favorites are Underland by Robert MacFarlane and Carrying the Fire by Michael Collins.

Food: Sushi, tacos, brunch, seafood

Candy: English toffee, Cinnamon roasted pecans

Sports: LSU football, New Orleans Saints, and Cincinnati Bengals

Movies: anything about WW2, Star Wars, Wes Anderson, Christopher Nolan, & documentaries.

TV: The Office, Parks and Rec, Schitt’s Creek, Stranger Things, Severance, and true crime.

Space-related: All things NASA, space exploration, planets, comets, astronomy, solar eclipses, the Northern Lights, rockets, and spacecraft!
